Gordon Elliott's Jack In The Box (11/4jf) wore down long-time leader Kilbree Warrior to grab victory in the two mile three furlong maiden hurdle in Naas.

Kilbree Warrior gave it a right go at 40/1 off the front and was nicely clear over three out.

She increased her advantage entering the straight as Lucky Tenner pursued her in second with Jack In The Box pushed along to improve into third.

Kilbree Warrior began to feel her exertions as he lead was markedly reduced two out.

Jack In The Box got on terms at the last and moved on in the final 150 yards. He went on by three lengths from Kilbree Warrior at the winning post. Lucky Tenner (10/3) couldn't go with the front pair on the run-in and was placed again in third.

Jockey Davy Russell said: “He’s a big raw horse and he has a lovely attitude.

“He’s only five and you don’t want to ask him too much but going further is something that could be explored in time.”

This was Jack In The Box's third run having finished third and fourth in Punchestown.
