Irish in action at Kempton

Kicking King heads the 13 runners declared for the Stan James King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephens Day.

Barry Geraghty again takes the mount on the Tom Taaffe-trained gelding, while Ruby Walsh and Paul Carberry ride the well-fancied Paul Nicholls-trained pair Azertyuiop and Le Roi Miguel.

As expected Best Mate was taken out of the three miles highlight and instead heads to Leopardstown next Tuesday for the Lexus Chase.

Carberry is also aboard Harchibald in the Christmas Hurdle, with Noel Meade´s charge facing six rivals including Rooster Booster and exciting four-year-old Arcalis.

Ollie Magern is the likely favourite in the other Grade 1 race on the card, the Feltham Novices Chase, in which nine runners go to post.
