Interchangeable was always coming in the four-year-olds plus maiden hurdle over an extended 2m3f at Naas and he just got there in the final stride.

He crept into the race for Danny Mullins and came to hunt down Hills Of Glory on the run-in. The leader was nothing if not game and just gave best in the shadow of the post.

Stuart Crawford 's winner returned at 11/2 and he beat the 5/1 runner-up by a short head. Couldntmakeitup (12/1) was three-parts of a length back in third.

Jockey Danny Mullins, in the 'double green' of Isaac Souede and Simon Munir, said: “It was a good bit of training by Stuart and the boys.

“I rode this fella in Navan and thought he jumped slow. The run over two miles the last day probably sharpened him up a bit more. He jumped and carried me throughout the race today.

“Credit to Stuart for putting that together.

“He was tough. No matter what the ground is here you are climbing to the finish and I still had that length to make up. He put down the head and battled well.”

The Raceday Stewards interviewed K.M. Donoghue, rider of Hills Of Glory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K.M. Donoghue was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
