IRISH FIELD TO SPONSOR LEGER The Irish Field will sponsor the Irish St Leger in a three year deal beginning with the latest renewal on September 13 at the Curragh.The Irish Field takes over the sponsorship from the Smurfit Group, and Curragh manager Paul Hensey commented, ´The Irish Leger is one of Ireland´s most prestigious races, and we are delighted to have agreed a three year sponsorship with the Irish Field.´The race has been won in recent times by Vintage Crop, Oscar Schindler and Vinnie Roe, and will be shown live on RTE, BBC and Channel 4 this year.In other news, the Irish Field has appointed Leo Powell as their new Managing Editor. Powell is well-known in the bloodstock sector having worked with both Tattersalls and Goffs.
