Alan and Ann Potts were on hand to greet House Rules back into the winners’ enclosure after House Rules took the Kelly Foley & Co. In Association With Lloyd Fitzpatrick Accountants Beginners Chase.

Davy Russell made all in the 2m1f event on the Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding who put in a fine round of jumping.

The 9/2 joint favourite took control before the last to beat Days Ahead by four and a quarter lengths. Miradane (6/1) was a further length and a quarter adrift in third, while the other joint favourite Capellanus (supported on track from 7/1) could never really get in a blow finishing tenth.

De Bromhead said, “I felt he deserved one. He had a great run behind Dazzling Susie at Clonmel, and last time well he just seems to hate Galway.

“Davy gave him a super ride, and it’s great that Alan and Ann are both here.”
