Horn blows rivals away Tom Horn proved too strong for his rivals when claiming the Clonacody Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel. Paul Carberry's mount travelled well to take it up from front-runner Speed Steed after the third last. The son of Beneficial got it slightly wrong at the penultimate flight but always looked in command. He galloped on stoutly in the closing stages to record a convincing four-length success over 9/4 favourite Luck Pennie. Winning trainer Noel Meade wasn't on hand to greet his charge.
