Chris Hayes sealed a double at Killarney when Lady Wannabe stayed on nicely in the Listed Ruby Stakes over an extended mile.

The 5/1 favourite was prominent leaving the stalls and raced on the outer for Hayes.

She had Allegio and Rionach in front of her at the halfway stage and was asked for more racing past the two marker.

The Camelot filly hit the front a furlong and a half out and took a couple of lengths out of the pursuers as she approached the final furlong.

She kept up the gallop to comfortably take the spoils by a length and three parts from Waitingfortheday (10/1) who put in her best work late for second. Onlyhuman completed the placings in third at 6/1, beaten four and a half lengths by the victor.

Trainer Fozzy Stack said: "She won it well and I'd say she is improving with age and her mother got better with age too.

"She travelled well, picked up well and quickened well. She seems to get 1m2f as well so has plenty options and is in the Blandford on Champions Weekend.

"She needs goodish ground and thankfully it dried up a bit."

Hayes also scored on Troop Commander in the nursery.
