Hamilton doubles up with Farwelltocheyenne Brian Hamilton recorded a double at his local track as Farewelltocheyenne took the bumper at Downpatrick, the ‘Your Name Here’ Flat Race, under Declan Lavery (Hamilton earlier won the fifth with Big Kern). The six-year-old son of Zagreb was sent off an easy to back 10/1 chance having being as short as 9/2 in a place this morning. He finished just over ten lengths fifth to Run Fly Run on his debut at Ballinrobe last month, and Call Me Pj, who finished second there, gave the form a boost last night by winning at Kilbeggan. Prominent throughout he improved to dispute the lead from over three furlongs out and he hit the front with over two to race. He was ridden over a furlong from home and he kept on well up the straight to win by five and a half lengths at the line. Newcomer Angus Milan finished second under Patrick Mullins for Noel Kelly at 7/2 while the 4/6 favourite Royal Captain was a disappointing third, a further twelve lengths back under Nina Carberry for Gordon Elliott. Brian Hamilton, who also owns the winner, said afterwards: "It looked a bad race in Ballinrobe but in actual fact it was a good race. "He had never been away from home before when he ran in Ballinrobe and he ran very green. "He can gallop and he has a lovely long stride on him. He has the stamp of a chaser. He'll go to the sales."
