Mick Halford was double handed in the extended mile-and-a-quarter handicap at Dundalk and it was his Elizabeth Coffee who landed the spoils.
The three-year-old filly was backed down to 11/4 favouritism from 7/2. Shane Foley rode her into the lead just under two furlongs out and she repelled Master Melody (25/1) by half-a-length.
Stepped up to this longer trip, Joe Eile under top weight of ten stone plugged on for third three lengths away at 9/2.
Mick Halford said: “She’s very genuine and tries hard. I trained her dam [Queens Wharf] and she’s a bit like her mother in that she’s a late developer.
“The good surface helps her and she’ll come back for another one of these in a few weeks time.”
Halford’s other runner, Eastern Rules finished 13th of the 14 runners.
