Gopsies wins fourth of season Gopsies Daughter continued in fine form for Denis Hogan when landing her fourth success of the season in the five-furlong handicap at the Curragh this afternoon. Killian Leonard was always prominent on the 5/1 joint favourite and there were plenty in with chances inside the final furlong with the field spread wide out. The Captain Rio mare stayed on best to get her head in front close home and record a hard-fought half length win. “She's tough out and that's four wins this season now,” said Leonard. “Five is ideal, or five-and-a-half is as far as she wants to go. I rode her over six here a few weeks ago and she just got battled out it in the last half furlong. “I said to Killian Hennessy that she's win the week after and she went about her business and won. “There was a bit more of an ease in the ground that day but she goes on anything. “She's fairly tough. She doesn't ride like a filly that has plenty of toe. She actually rides pretty slow but she's just so tough, keeps galloping and wears the rest of them down. “I was off it two-and-a-half out but she just kept galloping the whole way to the line for me. She's very genuine and she's not too bad. “There was a 3lb swing with Little Clarinet today and they didn't take the 7lb off with Killian Hennessy. Denis just said to me that he was going to leave me on her. The 3lb swing was a bit of a worry but she's fairly tough and to win four in one season is tough going.”
