Goldrun possible for Irish Champion

Jim Bolger is considering a change in plans for his star filly Alexander Goldrun who was expected to have her next run in France.

The Prix Vermeille was mentioned before by the Coolcullen trainer as a likely target but he is now looking at two Group 1 options at Leopardstown on September 10.

The Matron Stakes and the Irish Champion Stakes are the two races in question, and Bolger outlined his thinking after saddling Sandie to take the featured nursery at Tralee this afternoon.

´If Soviet Song didn´t turn up then the Matron Stakes would be likely, while a bit of cut in the ground could inconvenience a number of the principals in the Irish Champion Stakes.´
