Golden Alou relishes three-mile test Golden Alou provided a 12/1 upset in the three mile handicap chase at Listowel with seven pound claiming amateur Declan Queally up. The jockey, brother of flat rider Tom, got a good leap from his charge at the last as they fended off 33/1 Knockmoy Jewel by threelengths. Klassy (16/1) was three lengths away in third and Clan Music finished fourth at 14/1. Punters piled into the Tony McCoy ridden Pocket Reader, trained by Enda Bolger. The five-year-old was backed at 9/2 in the morning and his price was forced down to 2/1 favouritism in the 18-runner field. The gelding could only manage fifth place of the 11 finishers. Golden Alou’s trainer Ger Lynch said: “He has to be ridden handy in order to get a breather into him. He’ll go for another handicap next.” Michael Graham
