Gold Not Silver stayed on stoutly to prevail by three parts of a length in the extended mile and two handicap at Dundalk.
The six-year-old gelding stepped up on a pair of runner-up finishes at this track and at Wolverhampton when delivering tonight.
He was ridden a furlong and a half down by Gary Halpin when holding a narrow advantage and found plenty to box on and win at 8/1. Masterchippy at 16/1 couldn't get on terms and finished second. He was half a length in front of Tortueuse (12/1).
“That was good. He's a tough, consistent, genuine horse,” trainer Adrian Joyce said.
“He was rated to win on the Flat and we'll look for something over hurdles after Christmas. He still has a nice mark over hurdles and should win another one.
“I'm delighted for Sean (Dalton). He only has the two. This horse is after winning twice and Coach Bombay has won four.”
