Further rain at Gowran

The going at Gowran Park this afternoon is sure to ride testing following 11mm of rain overnight which has left the ground provisionally described as soft to heavy.

A course spokesman said at 10.50am, “We had some rain last night and it was quite heavy this morning, with about 11mm in total. But it has cleared up well now and is lovely at present.

“We are using the inside track today which is the best of the ground in terms of drainage. We had some wintry showers earlier in the week but were lucky to avoid the worst of the weather.

“The Clerk of the Course is walking the track at the moment.”

The official going will appear on this site around 11.45am, and the first race on a seven race card gets underway at 12.35pm.
