Fastidious wins for Qatar Racing's new recruit Michael O'Callaghan has joined Qatar Racing's roster of trainers for 2015 and his Fastidious gained a first win in almost a year when landing the www.dundalkstadium.com Handicap at Dundalk this evening, making all under seven pounds claimer Gearoid Brouder. Brouder needed to be strong on the son of Exceed And Excel, last successful in February 2014, in the closing stages to hold off the challenge of Wishyouwerehere. Afterwards O'Callaghan stated "he stuck his head out well and likes it this time of the year. That's his highest winning mark so he's obviously improving with age. "They left him at it (in front) and that's exactly what he wants and seven furlongs is his optimum trip. "Gearoid (Brouder) is the new apprentice to the yard and we'll try to help him as much as we can. If he proves himself he'll get a chance in some of the maidens. "I have 25 horses for this year which is a lot more than last year; we have 11 two-year-olds and a couple of nice three-year-olds." O'Callaghan's December Dundalk winner Aggression has since been bought by Sheikh Fahad Al-Thani, and will run under the Qatar Racing banner in 2015 for the trainer.
