Trainer Dermot Weld recorded a big-race double at The Curragh today, when his Famous Name s won the Group 3 Desmond Stakes, adding to the win of Casual Conquest in the earlier Group 2 Royal Whip Stakes.
Famous Name eased to a four and a half length win to justify his short price of 30/100f.
Afterwards Weld reported “Famous Name did it very well and has been very consistent all year. One mile is his optimum trip and he may run next in the Prix Du Moulin at Longchamp in September.”
