Famous Curragh Group 2 double for Condon brought up by 66/1 shot Laws An 8,000 Euro yearling bred by HRI Chairman Nicky Hartery 66/1 shot Laws Of Indices supplied Ken Condon with a famous Group Two Curragh double in the Railway Stakes. Romanised set the ball rolling on Condon’s 217/1 brace in the Paddy Power Minstrel Stakes under Billy Lee. With Chris Hayes on Navan winner Laws Of Indices, the son of Power showed great tenacity when looking sure to be passed by Lucky Vega inside the final furlong. Charlotte Holmes has the clearly very progressive juvenile with the Osborne Lodge handler and he benefited from the waiting ride Hayes gave him. He was closer under two furlongs out before getting to the front over a furlong out and pulling out more when strongly pressed. “The price looks an insult now but I suppose he just fell in, in an auction maiden at Navan getting all the allowances,” said Condon. “Fair play to the owners, he was a horse that we liked. He ran early on in Naas and he's obviously made improvement as he's gone along. “Certainly he's made a huge step forward. I would have been delighted with a place. “He travelled through the race quite well and he's a horse that had shown us at home that he wants seven and they needed to stay today as it's slow ground. “He got to the line well and galloped through it. “At Naas he was in the gates quite a bit, was slowly away and maybe didn't handle the ridges. “He took a lot from it and gained a bit of experience. Then he went on to Navan, on soft ground, and a furlong out you'd say he would be fourth but he hit the line very well there. “To be honest I didn't see a win coming today and would have been delighted with a good run. He's obviously come forward well again. “He's entitled to run in all the good races now, he's well entered up. He's in the Phoenix and the National Stakes. “The Railway is always a very strong race so he'll take his chance in those races.” (GC & EM)
