FRANCE TRAVELS TO THE STATES

There is likely to be a strong Irish challenge in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes this weekend with France confirmed a definite runner by Aidan O´Brien.

´France goes for the Secretariat and Mick (Kinane) will ride him,´ said the Ballydoyle trainer at the Curragh yesterday afternoon, where he saddled a four-timer including his sixth successive Phoenix Stakes with One Cool Cat.

France, winner of the Group 3 Tetrarch Stakes and runner-up to Indian Haven in the 2,000 Guineas, will face Irish opposition in the shape of the Dermot Weld-trained Evolving Tactics.
