Elliott/Carberry in-form to delight of punters Gordon Elliott and Paul Carberry pleased punters for the second time in the space of half-an-hour at Down Royal when another well-backed favourite representing the pair, Final Day came home as he pleased in the Tote Go Racing Club Maiden Hurdle. In the opener Capranny Stables struck with Riverscape and this time Carberry elected to let the sweet-travelling Final Day lead from three out, he was clear before the next and eventually crossed the line five lengths to the good over Only Heather. Elliott said: "He is a nice horse and he probably got beaten by a good horse of Christy's (Stakers) in Tipperary. It is very hard to win a hurdle first time anyway. He could do plenty now over the summer and he'll probably go to Perth and then on to Galway."
