Elliott completes Navan four-timer with 1-2 in bumper Gordon Elliott completed a four-timer at Navan today as the Grand National and Gold Cup winning trainer completed a 1-2 in the concluding Ladbrokes Boost (Pro-Am) INH Bumper, with Thatsy beating stablemate Multifactorial. It is just 12 years since Elliott won the Grand National as a rookie trainer with Silver Birch and today his second winner of the famous race Tiger Roll, in last year's renewal, formed part of today's four-timer, when landing the Boyne Hurdle under jockey Keith Donoghue. The market for today's bumper was dominated by Elliott trained horses, whose Whatsy, under Barry O'Neill, was returned the 10/11 favoruite before winning cosily by a length and a quarter under a cheeky ride, from stablemate Multifactorial, the 9/2 second-favourite. “He's (Thatsy) a nice horse — we think a bit of him,” said Elliott. “He's got a bit of boot — he's not slow, so we think a good bit of him. “A Scottish man (K Haughey) owns him, it's our first winner for him and he's invested a few quid into the yard. “It wouldn't be the biggest surprise if he had an entry in the Cheltenham bumper. He's a smart horse but we'll have to see. “The second (Multifactorial) is a big galloper and is a nice horse too. He would have been a good winner if you took yer man out of it.” Quotes from Gary Carson
