Egg takes advantage of rival's misfortune Good Egg had fortune on his side to record a poignant win for connections in the Dean Hill Handicap Chase. The Davy Russell-ridden Tabhachtach had looked set to score until falling at the last when holding a three or four lengths advantage. This left Good Egg (14/1) in front and Mark Bolger’s mount accepted the opportunity gratefully to beat Down Under by a length and three quarters. Lethal Weapon was a half-length further back in third, with Second Glance in fourth. Winning trainer Lorna Fowler said “This win is in memory of Peter Duggan who played a big part in the yard and had horses with the Fowlers for years and years. We got this horse when he passed away in the summer. “The race looked totally open, and if we had been first, third or tenth I wouldn’t have been surprised. He’s been in great form all season but has just been frustrating for various reasons. It’s a team effort. “The owner Alex Frost is very passionate about his racing and we have already had a winner for him in Jumbo John.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
