The Willie Mullins-trained Nessun Dorma produced a fine front-running performance to make it two from two over hurdles in the Kilkenny City & County Vintners Hurdle at Gowran.
Ruby Walsh bounced out in front on the 2/5 favourite and he briefly opened up a gap on the field with nearest pursuer Possible Future in the early stages.
They came back to the rest in the back straight but Walsh, as ever, had judged the pace to perfection. Treasure Chest tried to throw down a challenge in the straight but was under pressure before the last and Nessun Dorma didn't have to come off the bridle to record a five-and-a-half length success.
The Canford Cliffs gelding was following up his maiden hurdle win at Kilbeggan last month.
“Le Richebourg coming out made it easier but he's not a bad horse,” said Walsh.
“He handled the ground very well and he's unexposed as it's only the third run of his life. Hopefully there's more to come.”
