Daamber dips at right time The six-furlong handicap at Dundalk produced a cracking finish with Daamberdiplomat just getting the verdict at the line after a photo finish. Colin Keane produced the 2/1 favourite to challenge passing the furlong pole and after edging a good duel with Jered Maddox in the closing stages he was joined passing the post by Mehman. Johnny Murtagh's charge just held on at the line to record the win by the narrowest of margins. It was a fourth career success for the Cotai Glory gelding, who was bagging his third course and distance victory. When asked if he thought he was up, Murtagh replied: "I didn't know now to tell you the truth! We were on the line and, in all fairness to Colin, he said he just got his head down at the right time. "He's a great little horse and he has been more consistent in his last couple of races. "He is effective over the six here and Colin says he gets the surface really well. Six furlongs is probably ideal when the pace is on for him. "I'm going to give him a break now and see, but there's nice races in the new year and we might go again. We'll see what the handicapper does." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
