Gavin Cromwell is hoping to have a couple of runners at Royal Ascot next week as he bids to maintain a perfect record at the meeting.

The Danestown handler has won with both previous runners at the meeting — Quick Suzy in the Queen Mary in 2021 and Snellen in the Chesham last year.

My Mate Mozzie is engaged in the Copper Horse Handicap on the opening day on Tuesday, for which he is currently a 10/1 shot.

Cromwell also has Mighty Eriu, second on her debut run at the Curragh recently, in the Queen Mary on Wednesday.

“My Mate Mozzie needs a few to come out of the Copper Horse but he’s in good form and hopefully he gets in,” said Cromwell.

“We also have Mighty Eriu in the Queen Mary. She seems in good form and has come out of the Curragh well so we’re looking forward to that.”
