Cork rescheduled for Wednesday

The Cork meeting cancelled yesterday, Sunday November 20, due to waterlogging has been rescheduled for Wednesday November 23 and the prospects of racing are described as "very good".

Original entries for the seven race card stand, although fresh declarations to run must be made by 10am tomorrow morning, Tuesday November 22. The time of the first race will be at 12.50pm.

Cork's Sales and Marketing Manager Mary Kelly said, "We were very unfortunate not to race on Sunday. The track took the rain very well but the Blackwater just couldn't take any more water on Saturday, and a small part of the course down the back was flooded. We should be fine on Wednesday.

"We had 55mm of rain between last Thursday and Friday. There was no rain on Saturday and very little yesterday, although we've had a bit of light rain this morning. There's been about 4mm so far today but the forecast is pretty good, and I'd say the prospects of racing on Wednesday are very good."

The going is currently described as soft to heavy on the hurdle course, and heavy on the chase course.
