Cooper sidelined with fractured wrist

Last season's champion claiming rider Bryan Cooper is facing a spell on the sidelines after fracturing his left wrist in a fall at Fairyhouse yesterday afternoon.

The highly promising young pilot was shot into the air in dramatic fashion when his mount Cordless blundered at halfway in the two miles Trinity College Racing Society Handicap Hurdle.

Tralee-born Cooper, who burst onto the scene with 37 winners last term, has already ridden 19 winners this season leaving him eighth in the National Hunt jockey's table.
