Classic winners on the mark at Galway Millefiori steered a wayward route to the winning line at Galway today but did, following a Stewards’ Enquiry, eventually win the TheTote.com Handicap for Classic winners Adrian Keatley and Shane Foley. Foley’s mount was in front with a furlong to race but ran around while under pressure in the closing stages. The daughter of Mastercraftsman, recording her fourth win in three months, firstly edged right impeding eventual fourth So Sensible before then drifting left and hampering eventual third Lady Fandango. With strides to race, the winner for good measure bumped runner-up Cairdiuil but passed the line a neck ahead. The result was left unaltered following an Enquiry and afterwards Keatley, trainer of 1,000 Guineas winner Jett Setting, stated “she's after coming to hand this year more than any other year. She was just raw and backward and we gave her a chance. “She had a little break (following her latest run in June) and we had her in the water walker and left the saddle off her. She freshened up and strengthened up again. “The ultimate would be to get some black-type with her before she retires at the end of the season but that might be tough. I have her in a Listed race at Baden Baden in a few weeks time.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
