Claimer Walsh steers 'madam' to win for Meade Jockey Eoin Walsh received praise from Noel Meade at Bellewstown today as the 7lbs claimer steered the trainer's Laura Bullion to a third career win in the Equine MediRecord Hurdle. Challenging Anna Bunina blundered and unshipped Donie McInerney jumping the second last flight and on the run-in, Laura Bullion, a daughter of Canford Cliffs, fought off the challenge of King Pellinor to score a three parts of a length win. The winner carried 10st9lbs, and eight-times Champion Trainer Meade later mentioned “Eoin (Walsh) is as good as there is around for a 7lb claimer. He's a lovely lad and he runs five or six miles every night to keep his weight down.” He added “she has a load of ability but she's just a bit of a madam, though she fought it out there. “She jumps well. We do a lot of schooling with her rather than working her. I think she has jumped fences as well. “We'll stick at that and hopefully the handicapper won't murder her.” Quotes from Gary Carson
