Citizenship will bid to claim a €100,000 Boylesports bonus when he lines up for the County Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Jessica Harrington's gelding came from a long way back to claim the Boylesports.com Hurdle at Leopardstown last month and is entitled to the bonus if he goes on to win any race at the Festival.

The Moone handler reported her charge in good heart this morning as she hosted a press day ahead of her team travelling to Prestbury Park.

“He'll probably go for the County Hurdle. He's an easy horse to train and has really only done one bit of work since Leopardstown,” said Harrington.

“The less you do with him the better. He's out in the field everyday and does his own thing.

“We might bring him to the Curragh one day next week. He practically trains himself!”

Also in line for a €50,000 Boylesports bonus is the Willie Mullins-trained Sir Des Champs, courtesy of his victory in the novice chase on the same card at Leopardstown.

“He's going well and it's all systems go for Cheltenham,” said Mullins today.

“We've yet to decide which race at Cheltenham he'll go for and we'll make a decision nearer the time.”

The Gigginstown gelding is entered for the Arkle, RSA and Jewson Novice Chases at the festival.
