Casey and Carberry in the wars at Fairyhouse

David Casey was taken to nearby Blanchardstown Hospital for extensive x-rays after suffering what Turf Club doctor Walter Halley described as a ´horrible fall´ at Fairyhouse this afternoon.

The incident occurred three out in the featured Menolly Homes Handicap Hurdle when Casey´s mount Emotional Article fell while in fourth place in the 16-runner event.

´David has a significant hip injury, and his neck was also placed in a collar. He will have a full body x-ray but is fully conscious,´ said Halley.

Paul Carberry was stood down for the remainder of the day when unseated from Definate Spectacle earlier in the same race. ´Paul has a soft tissue injury to his right knee,´ reported Halley.
