Harbanaker battled gamely in the opener at Dundalk this afternoon to give Leanne Breen and Robert Whearty their second winner of the week.

The trainer/jockey combination had also teamed up with Betrayed on Wednesday at the venue.

Harbanaker settled behind the leaders in the first division of the mile handicap before being produced to lead narrowly a furlong-and-a-half from home.

The 11/1 shot stuck his head out in the closing stages to record a half length win over French Rescue

It was a third career victory for the Camacho gelding and his first since joining Breen in the autumn.

Breen said: "He rode him perfectly, I spelt it out to him but he listens and he will get on well that lad.

"The horse is handicapped on his old form and it just took a few runs to get him going.

"When he came past me I was kind of wondering (if he would be caught), but he picked up well. Hopefully there is another one in him. The lads bought into him for a bit of craic and he has done his job now.

"Betrayed is entered for here next Friday and she might run. She got 5lb for winning so we'll see, he didn't miss her!"
