Brabazon 'excited' by 33/1 winner Archer’s Up made it third time lucky when causing a 33/1 upset to win the www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden at Dundalk today, winning for trainer Richard Brabazon and jockey Leigh Roche. Archer’s Up battled gamely in the closing stages to beat runner-up Train Time by three parts of a length with a further neck to 11/8 joint favourite Ample Sufficiency. Mighty Legend, the other 11/8 joint favourite, was pulled up injured with half a mile to race. Brabazon later stated “we’ve always liked this horse a lot and his last run was on sticky heavy ground and he didn’t like it. He probably wouldn’t be mad about the all-weather either but it’s getting late in the year. “I think he’s a horse for next year - his dam was second in a Group 2 so we’re entitled to dream a bit with him. “He’s a lovely raw horse and the fact that he’s able to do that on his third run has got us excited. I’d say he’s a good ground horse on the grass. Apart from it being a lovely win tonight it’s great experience for him and should crown him. “He’s a big baby and has got another gear he doesn’t know he has yet and that’s why we’re so excited.” By Tom Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
