Bolger & Manning double up with Fulminata After taking the first with Chroussa, Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning doubled up in the third, the Listowel Track Fillies Maiden, as Fulminata ran out a comfortable winner at 8/1. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor (also the sire of Chroussa), was having her sixth career start this afternoon, and she was fitted with cheekpieces and a tongue strap for the first time. The Ballylinch Stud owned filly was placed on her last two starts at Leopardstown and Gowran respectively and she was upped in trip to a mile today. Having chased the leaders for much of the race, she improved to challenge two furlongs out, hitting the front before the furlong pole, going on to score easily by six lengths. Mischief N Mayhem attempted to make all but she couldn’t hold off the challenge of the winner, and she had to settle for second at 10/1 under Wayne Lordan for Tommy Stack. Pastiches was six lengths back in third under Shane Foley for Mick Halford at 9/2, while the 9/4 favourite, Shes No Joke, finished a disappointing sixth under Michael Hussey for Mark Fahey. Ger Flynn, travelling head lad for Jim Bolger, said afterwards: "It is nice to get a win out of her and she has been knocking on the door for a while. "Everything went to plan today and she handles soft ground very well. "She is in again in a handicap later in the week and we will see how she comes out of this race." A draw was made for Listowel Supporters Club members before the race and Jim Bolger, who has been a member for many years, drew his own horse, winning an extra €250 in the process.
