A cracking renewal of the Punchestown Pavillion Tied Cottage Chase saw Colm Murphy‘s Big Zeb back to his winning ways.
The Oscar gelding jumped his way to the front four from home and kept on strongly for Barry Geraghty to post a seven length win over Golden Silver
A relieved Murphy said afterwards: “I’m delighted with that performance, he’s had his problems in the past but I think we’ve ironed them out now.”
“We’ll freshen him up and then it’s on to Cheltenham, it’s nice to be going over there on that back of that.”
“He had treatment for ringbone on his off four and that seems to have done the trick. We probably shouldn’t have sent him over the Tingle Creek I blame myself for that.”
“His jumping was brilliant and we’ve done a lot of schooling with him at home.”
Murphy also said of Voler La Vedette: “She seems A1, we’ll take our time with her. She’ll go straight to Cheltenham now for the mares race. I think she has a realistic chance of winning that.”
