Bellewstown passes inspection

Racing goes ahead at Bellewstown this evening after the course for found to be fit for racing following a precautionary inspection.

A seven race National Hunt card commences at 5.25pm featuring the Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha Handicap Hurdle. The going is described as soft, soft to heavy in places.

The three-day Festival meeting got underway yesterday evening, although the going was heavy after significant rain and an inspection was called due to the threat of further rain last night.

Racing in Britain is badly hit by the weather today with meetings at Carlisle, Nottingham and Leicester all abandoned.

The highlight across the water is the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown, with ten runners going to post at 3.45pm headed by Farhh and Nathaniel.
