Bates scores fourth win on Goidelic Seven pounds claiming professional Declan Bates partnered his fourth winner at Cork today, winning the McCarthy Insurance Group Maiden Hurdle (div 2) on Goidelic, for his boss Philip Rothwell. The son of Accordion was held up in touch by Bates before moving through to lead before the second last flight, eventually recording a five lengths win over Doc O'Donnell. Rothwell was not present for what was his 17th winner of the season.
