Baladiya showed plenty of boot when taking the opening six-furlong maiden at Leopardstown.
She had plenty to do at the two pole as she raced on the outer with only three horses behind her.
However, she surged forward and hit the front inside the final furlong. Chris Hayes kept her up to her work as she passed the post three parts of a length to the good.
The 5/2 favourite, Royal Court was the horse collared by Baladiya and had to settle for second, a short head in front of Super Treat (5/1).
Dermot Weld said: "It was quite a nice performance. She battled well and got a good ride from Chris.
“We'll look for a handicap with her. She's been a consistent filly. A stiff six to seven is what she wants.”
