Atlantic Coast storms home in Curragh opener Fifth choice in the market at 10/1, Atlantic Coast was a taking winner of the Coolmore Stud Arizona Irish EBF Maiden in the hands of Dylan Browne McMonagle. They went steady enough in this contest which was confined to newcomers and the Joseph O'Brien-trained Kodiac colt, bred by owners Al Shira'aa Farms, was close to the pace from early on before quickening up to lead over a furlong out. After briefly edging right, he stretched clear to beat 9/4 joint-favourite Formal Display by three and a quarter lengths. After a slow start, Queen Of Thunder did well to finish a further neck away in third. “He was really good. He was perfect from the get go, even going down to the start he was really good. He's got a great temperament, relaxes really well and took everything in his stride,” said Browne McMonagle.  “When I pushed the button he quickened really well and he's very talented. He's been working well and he always showed plenty.  “I'm delighted, he's put himself forward and shown what he can do.  “We didn't go overly mad, we went nice and even, and from halfway I was always in control. I had plenty of horse everywhere.  “When I pressed the button a furlong-and-a-half down he quickened up good and galloped out through the line well. He's a lovely horse.  “He's going to stay further, no problem to him, in time. He's obviously going to progress for the experience today but he couldn't have done much more.”  Quotes from Gary Carson
