Ardhoomey made it two from two for the season with a battling success in the five-furlong navanracecourse.ie Handicap.

Ger Lyons' charge won on his reappearance at Dundalk last month and justified 5/2 favourtism back on turf today.

Colin Keane produced him to challenge inside the final furlong and he got on top in the closing stages to post a neck success over In Salutem in a tight finish.

“Everybody knows what I think of the the horse and what his issues are,” said Lyons.

“He's doing that well but the handicapper is going to grab him at some stage and we might run out of handicaps.

“Five furlongs on quick ground is a help to him. If he could breathe he would be a very good horse.

“I'm delighted for John (Quinn), who bred him, and has gotten great fun out of him. He brings him home every winter.”
