Aeronautic takes flight to deny Murtagh a double Interviewed on Racing TV after Shamsuddin's win earlier on the card, Johnny Murtagh said that he was expecting a big run from Raydamann in the PD Lift Trucks Ltd Maiden and the Sea The Stars gelding didn't disappoint in that respect but was caught on the line by Aeronautic (17/2). A few lengths behind Shamsuddin when making his debut at Gowran, Joseph O'Brien's colt raced prominently but was very green and hung both ways in the straight before being lifted home by Dylan Browne McMonagle to touch off Raydamann by a head. The winning rider said: "The penny only really dropped with him in the last half a furlong. "The race kind of spread out a little bit into the straight and I was left there on my own in the middle and he rolled around plenty. "He's a big boy and he is only going to get better, plenty of improvement to come. He'll get a mile and a-half too. "Definitely (have a future on turf after winning his barrier trial at Naas), he'll handle it fine and probably is going to be all the better on grass. He'll learn plenty from today and he is going to sharpen up a lot. "A progressive horse and hopefully he can keep doing that." Quotes from Michael Graham
