Willie Mullins bagged a double on the final day of Killarney's July Festival as Abi's Champ won as she pleased in the mares' bumper.

She was still tanking along for Patrick Mullins entering the final quarter of a mile while the pursuers scrubbed along. Roedora and Jazzwing to their credit, attempted to make life tougher for the Leading Light mare, but she was in mood to give them hope.

She further increased her lead inside the final furlong and strode in by an easy seven lengths to justify 4/6 favouritism. This followed up on a wide-margin Downpatrick victory.

Roedora (5/2) won a scrap for second with Jazzwing (14/1) by a neck.

Jockey Mullins said: “She was very professional. She has lots of speed but no one wanted to make the running, so I said we’d keep it simple on the best horse in the race.

“She could go jumping or back on the Flat. She loved that good ground and I think she’s a mare with a lot of ability.”
