A previous course and distance scorer, Jazz Girl successfully conceded weight all round to gain the sixth win of her life in the New Children's Playground Rated Race at Fairyhouse.
Gary Carroll has partnered the chestnut to five of those successes and here he made all on the 11/2 shot (from 7s). She wasn't for catching from the two furlong pole, eventually disposing of Abu Nayef s challenge by three lengths.
Jazz Girl is handled by Andy Oliver and he divulged: "The key this year with her is the ground. She wanted really quick ground as a three-year-old and got away with it a few times last year when the ground was changing.
"Gary gave her a really canny ride from the front.
"I'm delighted for the owner (Garrett Freyne) who is a good friend." (AM & EM)
