Bryan Cooper completed a 50/1 Clonmel double when Canaly just prevailed in the Powerstown Chase.
Earlier a winner on Rathlin Cooper forced Dessie Hughes' Canaly up on the line to short-head the gallant front-running mare, Belle Brook (a well-backed 5/1 chance).
The waited with favourite, Immediate Response could never get to the pace-setter and he had to settle for third, three lengths back.
Hughes trains Canaly for Michael Moore and he said: "He's going the right way and hopefully there's another one in him.
"Two and a half miles is his trip and he probably wants better ground.
"Two years ago when he was really right, he won on faster ground at Gowran and he was at his most impressive then.
"He disappointed last year. He wasn't right but we never really found out what was wrong with him." (TW & EM)
