The Stewards interviewed S.T. McCullagh, rider of Rips Dream, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. S.T. McCullagh stated that one of the strikes was for corrective purposes as his mount was hanging in the straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that his final strike with the whip was for corrective purposes and therefore the remaining hits did not constitute a breach of R 10.3. and took no further action.
