I thought going around the bend he was in a little bit of bother but when he got a bit of daylight, and he got a crack into him, he quickened away well,. I've always liked him, he's still a raw green horse and he's going to keep improving. I'm not sure where we'll go with him next, the soft ground wasn't a problem to him there. He's a very simple, straightforward horse and hopefully he'll keep on the upward curve. Mentally he still hasn't come yet, he's very babyish.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Matthew J. Smith, trainer following the performance of One Cool Poet in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on it’s previous run's. Matthew J. Smith stated that his charge found the ground too quick the last day in Tramore and did not come down the hill well but he felt the ground was ideal tonight and this coupled with a strong pace helped bring about today's apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report and liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards noted it’s contents. The Raceday Steward fined Matthew J. Smith €130 for failing to comply with his requirement under Rule 147(v) to lodge written notification with the Clerk of the sales of the appointment of an authorised representative to act on his behalf
W.J. Lee, rider of One Cool Poet, trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stayed on passed tired horses.
