Permission was given for Servo (IRE) to go early to post and for William Alexander (GB) to wear a hood in the parade ring only.
Rounding the bend into the home straight, Liberty Power (GB), placed eighth, hung left-handed taking Eligible (IRE), placed fifth, off its intended line which in turn caused the rider of AOIFE’S JOY, placed seventh, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the line, the winner Dawn Breaking (GB) edged quickly left-handed giving a slight bump to Challet (IRE), placed third, which in turn came into contact with James Park Woods (IRE), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Dawn Breaking (GB).
The winner Dawn Breaking (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 17 September 2020 where the gelding finished eleventh of thirteen runners, beaten by thirteen lengths.
The representative of Richard Whitaker explained that the gelding benefited for the removal of the blinkers and appreciated being able to make the running on this occasion.
His explanation was noted, and Dawn Breaking (GB) was routine tested.
