Permission was given for Tempus (GB), Navagio (IRE), Son Of Man (IRE), Classic (GB) and Inspiritus (IRE) to wear red hoods to post.
Approximately 1 1/2 furlongs out, Navagio (IRE), placed fifth, shifted left-handed as Classic (GB), placed sixth, edged right-handed causing Tempus (GB), unplaced, to be checked, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Navagio (IRE) or Classic (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Tempus (GB), unplaced, had been struck into on its left hind and had lost its right fore shoe.
