Leopardstown Thu, 25th Jul, 2024  Bedtime Story I'm delighted with her, Ryan was delighted with her and said he didn't open her up,. He said she was very green and in an ideal world he would have preferred the tempo to be quicker. He said he just came there and taught her. That's exactly what we came here for, for education. It's a great place to do it. He said she's very pacey and classy and sure we saw that. I'd say you couldn't go fast enough for her. To hear him saying that he never opened her up is a good sign. That means he was only in third gear. It's great to be educating them. Last year we ran Ylang Ylang here, made the running and mentally it did her a little bit of harm for the rest of the year. We had to go back and start again. That's why we let the other filly go along in front of her today, to educate her. I thought if she was well she'd go for the Debutante at the Curragh on the way to the Moyglare. We're teaching her to relax and race. The second filly is a lovely filly and she'll step up to a mile whenever we want her.

Curragh Sun, 21st Jul, 2024  Ephesus I'm delighted with him. He's a horse that stays very well and he'll stay further than a mile-and-a-half, he's genuine,. We'll look for a staying handicap, he'll have no problem going a mile-and-six.

Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jul, 2024  Diego Velazquez He ran a lovely race in the French Guineas and then we went to the French Derby with him, Ryan just said maybe over a mile-and-a-quarter we rode him too forward and the pace of the race didn't work out for him. We went to Ascot over a mile-and-a-half and we felt very much coming from Ascot that he's not a mile-and-a-half horse. He's made like a miler so he's probably and eight, nine or ten furlong horse. He loved the ground. We ran him back quick because we wanted to know where to go with him in the Autumn. Ryan said he has all the class in the world and all the speed in the world. He could be a Cox Plate horse and we'll see what we do in between with him. He's definitely not short of pace. He was different today. In the French Derby Ryan said he was caught wide and was in a position where he didn't want to be through the whole race. He came in a said 'put a line through it'. We went to Ascot and there was pace on and it was going to be a very strong run mile-and-a-half, and we felt that wasn't him. He looks like a miler. We're delighted with him. He has a lot of options and at least we know now what to do in the Autumn. We'll give him a little bit of time now.

Curragh Sun, 30th Jun, 2024  Los Angeles We were delighted with him in Epsom and we thought he would come forward. Obviously he did go forward in Epsom and learned plenty, we were hoping that would be the case so he could come back here. Ryan gave him a great ride. It was a solid even pace and it's an unbelievable track. It's great to have this race at this time of the year so all those horses can come together and you get to find out what's there. He's a big hardy horse. He looks like he was a baby but he is a Group 1 winner at two as well. He is progressing, definitely, and we're really looking forward to him. Obviously he's by Camelot so he has that class, so he can quicken. Ryan said he had a lot more class than he expected and he quickened very well when he got there. We came here thinking that he was going to turn into a Leger horse but Ryan said he has way more class than that.

Curragh Sun, 30th Jun, 2024  Henri Matisse We're delighted with him. We thought he was a bit too babyish to go to Ascot and Wayne said he's still babyish. He said he'll love going up to seven and we might go up to seven next, we'll see what's there for the Phoenix Stakes. He's a lovely horse, tries very hard and is very genuine. He has an unbelievable pedigree.

Curragh Sat, 29th Jun, 2024  Truly Enchanting We thought she was a five/six furlong filly who would handle an ease in the ground. Ryan gave her a great ride, she was very green. Conditions suited her. She took the race in Ascot very well. She was just a bit green and babyish in the Queen Mary (unplaced). It was kind of a last-minute decision to go five with her. Because she had won at Tipperary we said we'd chance (it), but when she ran at Tipperary it was soft ground so she found it a big change on the fast ground. Ryan gave her a great ride, she's tough and hardy and we're delighted with her. He didn't go until he really had to and he kept cajoling her, he didn't want to get into a bumping match with her. He said to change the bit. She's very straightforward at home, but I suppose she was coming up there on the stands' rail by herself. She runs in a happy bit, a very soft bit, and it's as soft as you can put on them. He said to put a ring bit in her, it'll help to keep her straight as it keeps the bit very balanced in their mouth. She's not really able to catch hold of it when there is a ring on it. Some of them are running well, but he horses in the first were a bit disappointing. They found the soft ground a big change and we probably didn't have them prepared for soft ground. We were hoping to come here for fast ground and the preparation is usually a bit different when it's soft and we were probably a bit gentle on them. They'll probably improve a lot. Curragh Fri, 28th Jun, 2024  Lake Victoria We're delighted with her. She was showing lovely work at home. It was her first day out, first day at the track, so you'd have to be very happy with her. Ryan was very happy with her. She was green and Ryan said he didn't mean to send her on as early but when she went there she started pricking her ears and waiting. She was never away and hadn't been in front that much. He said he had to make her get down and do it but he said she still had her ears pricked going to the line, that's always a good sign. Obviously she'll go into one of the good fillies races. She has loads of speed, they didn't go very fast but she still travelled very well and quickened very well. I think probably on to the Silver Flash or something like that. Obviously depending on where some of the other fillies will go and see what the lads want to do.
