Navan Sun, 17th Nov, 2024  Cast A Spell It took a long time to get into her act jumping. She got brought down one day schooling in Thurles and she didn’t forget it for a long time. The last day she ran in Cork, she was actually heavily in season when she got her black type, and we didn’t know until afterwards. We knew that she was a lot better mare than ran in Cork. She was faultless there today and she has the talent. She always runs with the handbrake a bit half-on, so there is a lot more there than she gives. I found those type of horses will always win plenty of races. She might not win every day, but she will win more nice races.

I only have a couple of horses so it is great to get a race like this, in a place like this, at a festival like this. We will keep an eye on other festivals now.

Naas Sun, 10th Nov, 2024  Pinot Gris That was grand, the blinkers worked a treat. He's a lazy, idle type of a horse and they just made him concentrate. If you look back to the Lartigue, he had a wander around up the straight and it's a pity we didn't have them on him then. We'll maybe look for a handicap somewhere and he's big enough to jump a fence in time.

Leopardstown Sun, 20th Oct, 2024  Master Dunraven I'm delighted with him, he's been consistent all year. Ben has a good record on him, he knows how to ride him. He's a horse that you have to let find his feet early and he comes home very strong in the second half of the race. He was happy with him there today and we'll see what the handicapper does. . I think his future will lie jumping. He's on the market and he should make a decent jumper. He's got a bit of size and scope and he handles that ground well. 

Killarney Mon, 7th Oct, 2024  Cast A Spell She is a tough filly and while the trip was short for her today, the ground helped. She has been consistent and if the handicapper isn't too hard on her, she might win a handicap. Hopefully now she'll be a nice mare over hurdles during the winter. Her owner Alan Jamieson is brilliant and is a fabulous owner, so it is unfortunate he couldn't be here today. Alan is a Geordie but is based south of London and it is brilliant to train a winner for him.

Bellewstown Thu, 3rd Oct, 2024  Preparations I don't think she was right in Listowel. I was still even disappointed with her in Navan, she is showing more at home than what she is bringing to the track. She is working to a higher level. I think she is probably just a bit weak and I might just put her away for next season. It is grand to get her off the boards. She has famous colours, my wife's colours (now). They won the 1963 Champion Hurdle with Winning Fair.
