Le Richebourg now two from two over hurdles
Jody said he came back on the bridle very quick after his mistake at the second last and he is a nice horse who can progress. I'd hope he'll run during the winter as it was good and soft when he ran twice in bumpers and his bumper form is top class. He wouldn't run on any ground better than today and we'll try and mind him.
Gold gets Kennedy off the mark
She is a consistent mare and I was a bit worried about the ground as it wasn't as slow as I thought it was. She'll probably go to Galway for an 80-109 on the first day or she'll run on the flat. You need to produce her late as she has one burst and that's it and he (brother Paddy Kennedy) was lucky with the run he got down the inside; we had luck today but were unlucky a few other days. As long as Paddy keeps winning on him he'll keep the ride!. I only have a few for the track but I've a lot of young horses and I'm kept busy with point to point horses and breaking horses. I'm only getting started but have had a few point to point winners already but this is my first on the track.
O'Brien & McManus double-up with Bridge
They both ran very well and JJ's horse seemed to get the trip very well and he gave him a great ride. He was a decent horse on the flat and seems to have taken to hurdling but he's a lazy horse, and has been his whole life - that's why he wears blinkers. I don't think he's un-genuine but he just takes a bit of riding. We'll find another handicap hurdle with him next. Hallmark (runner-up) was a bit unlucky but is an unlucky horse and seems to like being unlucky! . I think he'll go back for another handicap hurdle and today was his first time going that trip so that opens up a few more doors for him.
'Courageous' Fox lands another big pot
He is just a courageous horse and is fierce game. All he does is eats, sleeps and runs. We have him in Galway in the Amateur Handicap (which he won under Browne last year), the Hurdle and in a 1m 4f handicap so we'll see what happens. All options are opened. I always thought this horse would go to the top as he has the right attitude for racing and it's well to have him. Barry's 7lbs claim was vital in a race like that and he knows the horse and gets on well. And he always wins at a good price!

in fairness he deserved that and has had some cracking runs and I’m delighted for the Mangans (owners). He was good there, jumped really well and it wasn’t out of turn - he’s a 128 rated beginners and his first run over fences was this race last year! It was no harm though as he’s a big horse and is still only filling his frame - he’s absolutely massive. There’s plenty fun to be had with him and while made mistakes in the past, jumped impeccably there and Andrew (Lynch) gives him such confidence jumping - he just lies down their neck jumping and that lad loved it. He’ll run in the Grade 3 2m2f novice chase at Galway next - Jimmy (Mangan)s goes to Galway every year so I’d imagine he’ll run there.
The Trigger scores for 'Krafty' trainer
he was very disappointing the last day over in England when I thought he’d have won - Dickie Johnson (British Champion Jockey hit the front far too soon! He just needed to be produced late today and I’m delighted. He’s probably not much better than (88 rated) that but we’ll look for another wee chase now and it was a long journey down. I didn’t ride him myself because I’m struggling a wee bit as I’m busy with work and have five horses for the summer. Trying to diet was killing me a bit but I’ll still ride (stablemate) See Double You before the end of the year. I run a kitchen business - Krafty Kitchens & Bedrooms so I’m kept busy - it took me six and a half hours to come down today!
Cuba completes treble for O'Brien & McManus
It was a very good day and he is a lovely horse and Derek gave him a lovely ride. The other horse (Chess Grand Master) ran well too and we thought Santiago De Cuba wasn't too far away from some of the others (bumper winners) at home. That was his first-time out today and he got tightened up and did it fairly well. He could go hurdling now.
